The life and mind of a transplanted Texan loving Cincinnati: thoughts about journalism, leadership, social media and running my first marathon

95 days til the Flying Pig Marathon

Yup, I’m still running and training for the May 2nd Flying Pig Marathon here in Cincinnati.  The training for my first marathon is on target, despite the bitter cold and snow we’ve had this month.  I’ve discovered I love to run in the cold.  I don’t mind running in the snow, so long as it’s apparent that I’m running in the snow and not ice.

My longest run so far was a 12-miler last Saturday.  I’ll run 15 miles this Saturday with the ECHO group.  The photo here – this morning – taken outside the WCPO Channel 9 studios, toward the end of a beautiful 4-miler from downtown to Mt Adams (a 300-foot climb) and Eden Park.
