My soon-to-be viral squirrel vacation photo
Perhaps you’ve seen the now-famous “squirrel in the shot” vacation photo from Banff, and perhaps you’ve seen the Top 10 fake squirrel-in-history photos. Here’s my take:
The ballpark experience
Read an interesting column this morning in the Wall Street Journal, a personal look at ballparks from a writer, Mark Yost, who takes his son on summer journeys across the country. Those journeys include ballparks, including Cincinnati’s. But Mr. Yost is not fond of our Great American Ball Park.
Of all the new ballparks built in the past [...]
I love grocery store blogs
When I blogged all about Flower Mound Texas at FlowerMoundRoad.com from 2004 to 2007, I loved to write about our local grocery stores. So I loved finding this post this morning, which I can use for my own good at my local Kroger this week: http://littlemissknowitall.net/kroger-mega-event-matchups/ .
If I were a WANTED man
Let’s face it. I’m pretty much unwanted. (cue violins!) But let’s say I was a WANTED man, the kind you’d see on a poster at the post office. And let’s say someone had to give a description of me to a police sketch artist. Perhaps the sketch would come out like this.

Dang! That’s some big office-chair zucchini!
One of our colleagues was passing out some home-grown zucchini today. I’m not a zucchini eater, but I do like the way they look sitting on an office chair.

Overheard on Twitter
From: @CincyRecruiter 85% of what we know has come to us through listening. We can listen at about 200 words per minute & think about 2000 per minute #execunet
Smart thinking. I wonder if that’s why my mind gets bored when I’m just sitting there listening to someone, and thus why in certain situations, I instinctively [...]
How bout them Rangers?
Texas took 2 of 3 from the Angels this week, and now they close up the first half of the season with 4 games at Seattle, a team the Rangers are already 5-0 against this season. Haven’t seen this much excitement in Arlington lately, except for all the buzz around that “other stadium” next [...]
Photo finish
These photo thumbnails were sent to me by e-mail by the photographers of the Hyde Park Blast, in hopes I would buy reprints. This race was only 4 miles long, but still I look totally gassed. I’ll pass on ordering race photos until I start looking more gallant at the finish line.
